Summary
Our heroes are continuing their journey to Cinnabar Island. On a pole are some Pokémon banners. Ash says that its his favorite day of the year. Misty wants to have some fun. Ash reminds her that he still has to get his Volcano Badge and Brock thinks that Kid's day should be for men. Misty slaps them all. A woman comes out and tells them that she's been expecting them. She tells them that the other children are in the playground. Brock gets up and apologizes. The woman's cell phone rings and she answers it. When she's done, she tells them that the trainers won't show up and the kids will be disappointed because they won't get to play with the trainers' Pokémon. Ash tells the woman that they are Pokémon trainers. Brock tells the woman that the kids can play with their Pokémon and Ash agrees. The woman happily invites them all in.

Team Rocket has hidden behind a tree. They also notice the Pokémon banners and Kid's day. James remembers his experiences on Kid's day. He used to swim in a pool and eat ice cream sandwiches. Jessie tells them that she didn't have a great Kid's day. The woman calls out for the children. The children run down and start to mess with Pikachu. Pikachu sparks electricity and Ash quickly takes Pikachu which uses Thunderbolt on him. The woman yells at the kids for playing to rough and this scares Ash, Misty, and Brock. The kids want to see more of their Pokémon and so Ash, Misty, and Brock take out all the Pokémon that they have. All the kids and Pokémon are having a great time. Ash notices a kid not playing with the Pokémon. The kid's name is Timmy. Ash asks Timmy why he isn't playing with the other Pokémon. Brock thinks that Timmy's afraid of Pokémon. Timmy tells them that the only Pokémon he wants to meet is a Meowth. Misty asks what the reason is. Timmy tells her a story about how he got chased by a Beedrill and how Meowth rescued him. Misty asks if the Meowth talked. Timmy said no and that he knows Pokémon can't talk. Three other kids come up and start to tease Timmy.

Two magicians come in a truck. It's really Team Rocket in disguise. They tell the kids that their show is free. They do card tricks for the kids. Then they do the magic box trick. They show the kids a box with nothing inside it. Jessie tells the audience that a Pikachu is necessary for the trick to work. James comes over and takes Pikachu and puts it in the box. They close the lid and say the magic words. Then Meowth pops out of the box. Everyone cheers and claps for them. Team Rocket begins to walk away but Ash demands to know where Pikachu is. They take off their disguises and say their motto. Halfway through the motto, the kids torture Jessie and James. Then the kids use Weezing as a volleyball. The woman yells at the children again to be quiet.

Weezing uses Smokescreen. Timmy sees Meowth and jumps onto the box. Meowth falls over and Pikachu falls out of the box. Team Rocket gets the box thinking that Pikachu is still in it and they take off in their truck. Pikachu comes out and Ash is glad to see it. The woman tells Ash that they can't find Timmy anywhere. Team Rocket takes the box out of their truck and James has a net ready to catch it. Jessie opens the box and Timmy is inside it. Timmy cries and Jessie tries to calm him down. Timmy sees Meowth and happily runs to it thinking that this Meowth saved it from the Beedrill. Before Meowth can speak, Jessie and James quickly grab it and run behind the truck. They tell Meowth what to do. Meowth thinks that he can be a hero for making Timmy happy.

Jessie and James creep up towards Timmy scaring him. Meowth comes and uses Fury Swipes on Jessie and James. Meowth takes Timmy's hand and they run off. Ash and co. decide to search for Timmy. The woman yells at the kids to go back inside. Then Timmy runs up to them with Meowth. He tells them that this Meowth is the one that saved him before. The three kids that teased him before now apologize to him. They ask Timmy if they can play with Meowth too and it says yes. Misty then accuses Meowth of saying something. Meowth runs off and Timmy goes to follow it. Meowth runs behind a rock and it tells Jessie and James what happened. Ash and co. run to the same area. Team Rocket appears above them and they say their motto again. They send out Arbok and Weezing and Ash sends out Pidgeotto. Brock also sends out Onix. Weezing uses Smog but Pidgeotto blows the gas away with Gust. When the smoke clears, Arbok jumps out and is about to attack Pidgeotto but Onix knocks Arbok out. A big boulder rolls down the cliff and is headed straight for everyone. Ash tells them to run for it. Timmy slips and falls. Ash picks up Timmy but there's no chance for him to escape. Suddenly, another Meowth comes and breaks the boulder in half. Jessie and James are on the boulder and it rolls straight at Meowth. Team Rocket rolls away.

Timmy got to finally see the real Meowth that saved him from the Beedrill. It's time for Ash and his friends to leave. Timmy tells them that he wants to be a Pokémon trainer when he grows up and that he wants to compete in the Pokémon League. Ash and his friends leave as they wave goodbye to each other. Team Rocket is walking along. Jessie thinks that Meowth could've been a hero if he kept his mouth shut but Meowth tells her that he wouldn't have liked it anyways.
