Summary

Japanese Summary:

サトシにとっては久しぶりの、ゴウにとっては初めてのアローラ地方!ポケモンスクールのみんなとも再会したサトシだけど、カキからバトルの挑戦状を受けたのはゴウ!!

アローラ地方にやってきた!サトシは、ククイ博士や以前通っていたポケモンスクールのみんな、ポケモンたちと再会を果たす。ゴウにとっては全員初対面で、少し緊張気味の様子。ポケモンスクールで2人の歓迎パーティが開かれる中、クラスメイトのカキはゴウに対し「サトシのライバルにふさわしい奴か見極める!」と、ポケモンバトルを挑んでくる。ゴウはその勝負、受けて立つことに!!

Japanese Summary Translation:

It's Satoshi's first time in the Alola region for quite a while, and Go's first time there ever! But even though Satoshi got to reunite with everyone from the Pokémon School, Go was the one that got challenged by Kaki!!

Satoshi and Go have come to the Alola region! Satoshi goes around reuniting with Professor Kukui, the students from the Pokémon School he used to attend, as well as his Pokémon. But since this is Go's first time meeting them all, he's a bit nervous, and during the welcoming party that's held for the two at the Pokémon School, Satoshi's classmate Kaki challenges him to a battle, saying he'll "make sure this guy is a fitting rival for Satoshi"! Go accepts the challenge!!

After Go falls off the cliff into the water, the Japanese original has Go with his eyes closed the entire time whereas the dubbed version made his eye open very wide. A reairing of this episode in Japan on March 25th, 2021 on Kids Station did not change from the Japanese original and Go still had his eyes closed.

TV Tokyo announced that the Pocket Monsters 2019 series would switch time slots from Sunday's at 6pm to Friday's at 6:55pm starting with the October 9th, 2020 episode. The announcement was confirmed in the end sponsor segment of PM2019 37.

Satoshi and Go have come to the Alola region! Satoshi goes around reuniting with Professor Kukui, the students from the Pokémon School he used to attend, as well as his Pokémon. But since this is Go's first time meeting them all, he's a bit nervous, and during the welcoming party that's held for the two at the Pokémon School, Satoshi's classmate Kaki challenges him to a battle, saying he'll "make sure this guy is a fitting rival for Satoshi"! Go accepts the challenge!!
