The official Japanese Pocket Monsters anime Twitter account posted a message on February 24th, 2021 about Yuriyan Retriever playing the role of Koduck as well as her comments.

Yuriyan Retriever appears as a guest voice actress in Anipoke Episode 57!
She will be the voice of Koduck, the character that Kikuna met and remembers.

I was so happy to be able to do the voice of my favorite Pokémon from my childhood!
Koduck's only line was "Kopa," so I thought it would be easy, but when I actually started recording, it was very difficult to express Koduck's emotions and personality with just my voice!
I realized that Pokémon, like humans, are creatures that express a lot of emotions.
Please look forward to the "Pocket Monsters" anime airing on February 26 (Fri.)

Yuriyan Retriever (ゆりやんレトリィバァ) was on Pokénchi #276 where a behind the scenes video of her recording her voice for Koduck was broadcast. Director Daiki Tomiyasu (富安総監督) and Sound Director Masafumi Mima (三間雅文) were in attendance for the recording session.

Anipoke is just around the corner! The promise of a girls' night with food, sweets, and love stories...?

The anime "Pocket Monsters" will start airing soon! It's being broadcast every Friday at 6:55 pm! Just before the anime airs, this article will introduce the Pokémon and characters that will appear in today's episode, comments from the voice actors and director, and other Anipoke information you won't hear anywhere else!　Today's Anipoke is a story of love!

Koharu father, Director Sakuragi, goes to an academic conference, her mother stays in her office room at work, and her younger brother, Sota, has a sleepover with her Wanpachi. One day, when the weather is cold and snow is forecast, Koharu is left alone.

Koharu heads to the laboratory to invite Go to dinner, but Go and Satoshi go looking for an ice-type Pokémon. While waiting for Go to return, Koharu decides to take a tour of the laboratory.


While waiting for Go to return to the laboratory, Koharu and Eievui are surprised by Gengar.


Koharu admires Kikuna, who is cool at her job. But, Kikuna makes an unexpected proposal!?

When Go doesn't come back at the end of Kikuna's work day, Koharu is about to give up and go home, but Kikuna invites her to a girls' night out at her house!　With that being the case, they buy some good food and go to her home!


She couldn't help but smile when Kikuna, the girl she's been idoling over, asks her to "come over". It's going to be a fun night!


At the same time, Satoshi and Go... they were also enjoying some delicious food.

When Koharu arrives at Kikuna's house, she finds a picture displayed in her room. There was a picture of Kikuna, a young man and a Koduck. Could this person be Kikuna's boyfriend?　It seems that Kikuna has special feeling for this young man. When Koharu sees Kikuna saying sadly, "I wonder how he's doing now," she knows she is lonely and she is determined to help Kikuna's love!


The people in the photo are Kikuna, the young man, and Koduck wearing a blue scarf.


Kikuna's room full of Koduck. Is her love for Koduck because of something that happened in the past...?


Meanwhile, Satoshi and Go were still at the noodle shop. ...Hey!?


That Koduck with the blue scarf... no way! That means the young man next to it is...?

ゴウを夕飯に誘うため研究所へ向かうコハルだったが、ゴウはサトシと一緒にこおりタイプのポケモンを探しに行ってしまう。ゴウの帰りを待つあいだ、コハルは研究所の仕事を見学させてもらうことに。

キクナの仕事が終わる時間になってもゴウが帰ってこないので、あきらめて帰ろうとするコハルだったが、キクナの誘いで女子会をすることに！　しかもキクナの家にお泊りで！　そうと決まればうまいもん買って帰ろうぜ！

▲一方その頃、サトシとゴウは…こちらもうまいもん食ってるところでした。
キクナの家についたコハルは、部屋に飾られた1枚の写真を見つける。そこにはキクナとひとりの青年とコダックが映っていた。この人はもしかしてキクナの彼氏なのでは…？　どうやらキクナはやはりこの青年に特別な思いがある様子。「今頃どうしてるかなあ」と寂しそうに語るキクナを見たコハルが、キクナの恋のために立ち上がる!!

なんかまさかの展開になりそうなこの続きは今日の放送で！　キクナの恋の行方やいかに!?

On March 4th, 2021, the official Japanese Twitter account reminded people that this episode was available to watch on the official Japanese YouTube channel. The video was region locked to Japan only. It was available from February 26th, 2021 until March 5th, 2021 at 6:55pm JST. This episode was specifically labeled as a catch-up broadcast after the original TV airing (見逃し配信).
