A range of fun activities will take place in the Waikīkī Bay area, including a special locals-only community day on Wednesday, August 14th, 2024 (with a valid Hawaiʻi state ID) for the Pokémon World Championships 2024!

Pokémon illuminate the night sky of Waikīkī Bay to celebrate this year’s World Championships! Come see their dazzling lights as they soar over shimmering waters for some summer fun you’re sure to remember.

This unique experience offers fans the opportunity to meet and receive a personalized autograph from our special guests. The item to be signed will be provided. Autograph session slots are assigned on Friday in-person in the Autograph Room only, and badges are required to participate in this activity. Recipients must be at the Autograph Room at their assigned date and time—no makeups or replacements will be provided.

  • We may shut down the line for wristbands at any time, for any reason.
  • We may cancel an Autograph Session, end it early, or make adjustments to the timing, for any reason. If this is necessary, we apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment caused.
  • If a wristband is removed from your wrist, it is voided.
  • Wristbands cannot be transferred.
  • One wristband per person. You may only attend one Autograph Session. Once you have been successful in obtaining a wristband, you may not attempt to enter the drawing for another session.
  • The number of available wristbands for each Autograph Session is based on the duration of the session.

Genki Ball Making

Pokémon is collaborating with Genki Ala Wai Project to bring Genki Ball to the 2024 Pokémon World Championships! Make your own Genki Ball (mud ball) while learning about EM® bioremediation technology and how these mud balls can clean water. On Saturday evening, we'll throw all the Genki Balls together into the Ala Wai Canal! A limited number of slots are available for this activity on a first come, first served basis.

Pokémon: Bringing Animation to Global Audiences
The Pokémon Company International (TPCi) takes a behind-the-scenes look at how the Pokémon animated series is localized from its original Japanese version to the popular series enjoyed by international audiences, in addition to the creation of an original animated series by TPCi. In a panel moderated by Phil Rynda (director of original animation), Andy Gose (senior director of media production), Tad Kubota (director of media business operations), Toshi Yoshida (animation localization manager), Hilary Thomas (senior producer), and Chris Hewitt (associate producer) will discuss optimizing the series for global viewers and share behind-the-scenes insights on the current mainline series, Pokémon Horizons: The Series, and the animated limited series, Pokémon: Path to the Peak, both available now to fans around the world.

Winning the World Championships is as close as any Trainer can get to becoming a true Pokémon Master: it represents the ultimate culmination of skill, strategy, and determination. A panel of past champions, hosted by Dave Schwimmer (senior manager of Play! Pokémon program development), delves into their inspiring journeys to the top of the global competitive scene, what it has meant to them personally, and how they have been supporting the Pokémon community since their rise to glory.

Pokémon Trading Card Game Illustration Contest 2024

The Pokémon Trading Card Game Illustration Contest first began in 2021 by accepting submissions from talented artists in both Japan and the United States. This contest not only showcased beautiful illustrations coming to life, but also brought new talents to light. The 2024 Pokémon Trading Card Game Illustration Contest features “Magical Pokémon Moments” as its theme, accepting submissions from Japan and the United States, as well as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom for the first time. Please enjoy artwork from the top 100 entries from the 2024 contest, the winners’ artwork from the 2022 contest, and the “Draw Your Own Card” activity!

The Pokémon World Championships host a full schedule of side events open to all attendees who have an official event badge, regardless of whether the attendee is playing in the main event. Come battle in smaller competitions for a variety of awesome prizes throughout the weekend. It’s a great opportunity to meet and compete against players from around the world!
