Summary
Ash and co. are riding on Cycling Road towards their next destination, Hearthome City. First they plan on going to Dawn's Pokémon contest, and then Ash plans on taking on the Hearthome gym leader. Brock says that they cannot cycle all the way to Hearthome City because Cycling Road ends at a town before it. Dawn reminds Ash that he could have cycled all the way there if Pikachu didn't destroy her bike. Suddenly, the sky gets darker. Ash and co. notice that a storm is coming. Brock sees his Pokémon egg glowing. That means it is about to hatch. Brock states that their must be a Pokémon Center up ahead, so they ride towards the next town.

Ash and co. soon make it to the Pokémon Center. When they call out for Nurse Joy, no one answers. They notice that the place is messy. A Chansey comes out. Ash asks Chansey if Nurse Joy is around. Chansey points towards the back door. Ash and co. look outside, and they see Nurse Joy facing a tree. Brock runs up to Nurse Joy, but he sees that she is looking sad. Nurse Joy claims that it is her fault that the Pokémon Center looks like a disaster. Ever since the Cycling Road was built, trainers have forgotten about the Pokémon Center and just pass by it. Nurse Joy cries about her forgotten Pokémon Center. Brock asks Nurse Joy to help them hatch the Pokémon egg. Nurse Joy claims that she is no good, but Brock has confidence in Nurse Joy. Nurse Joy takes the Pokémon egg from Brock. She sees it glow for a bit and realizes that it is about to hatch.

A storm soon comes. With it raining, everyone rushes inside the Pokémon Center. The egg is brought into a room. Nurse Joy begins to lose confidence in herself. Brock and Chansey tell Nurse Joy that she will be fine. Nurse Joy regains some confidence. Ash and co. wonder if they can help. Brock tells Ash and Dawn that they will need a lot of paper towels and some boiling water.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket is in the Pokémon Center eating all of the food. Team Rocket suddenly hears someone coming, and they hide behind the boxes. Dawn opens the door looking for paper towels. She doesn't find any nor does she notice Team Rocket so she closes the door. Ash finishes boiling the water. They come back into the room and give the items to Brock. Nurse Joy quickly examines the egg before it hatches. She reports back that the egg is fine. Suddenly, the egg glows brightly. A Happiny emerges from the egg. Nurse Joy gives Happiny to Brock, and Brock thanks her. Ash looks up Happiny in his Pokédex. Brock places Happiny in the water. Happiny is very happy. When Happiny's bath is done, Brock places Happiny on the paper towels. Team Rocket is watching Ash and co. from behind the doors. They realize that the egg hatched. James states that Happiny evolves into Chansey. Jessie remembers the time when she went to nurse school with Chansey. Even though Jessie didn't do very well, she wants to pass on her talents to Happiny when it evolves. Team Rocket soon creates a plan to steal Happiny, and then they quietly walk away.

Brock begins to feed Happiny. Suddenly, Happiny begins to cry. Brock thinks it's because Happiny wants a stone. Nurse Joy explains that Happiny likes to put stones in their packets to imitate Chansey. Ash and Dawn decide to go out and find Happiny a stone. Ash and Dawn soon come back with many stones. Brock finds a good one and saws it a little. He says that the stone can't be too big or too heavy for Happiny. While Brock is working on the stone, they notice that Happiny is getting along really well with Pikachu. Soon, the stone is finished. Brock walks up to Happiny and presents it with the stone.

Suddenly, a mechanical claw appears and takes Happiny away. The source is Team Rocket. Nurse Joy runs outside wondering who they are. Team Rocket says their motto. Ash and co. demand for Happiny back. Jessie sends out Dustox. Dustox uses its Poison Sting attack on Ash and co. Then Team Rocket makes their getaway. Team Rocket has placed Happiny in a cage. They plan to steal lots of other Pokémon and make money off of them. Suddenly, Team Rocket hears Brock's voice. They look down and they see Ash and co. chasing them. James sends out Cacnea who uses Sandstorm. With Ash and co. trapped in a sandstorm, Team Rocket is able to escape from them once again.

Happiny is upset that it was captured. Jessie takes out Happiny from its cage and tries to cuddle it. She accidentally throws Happiny in the air, and Happiny holds onto the balloon. Wobbuffet jumps onto Happiny to get it down. When Jessie jumps onto Wobbuffet, the balloon rips, and Team Rocket falls to the ground. Meanwhile, Ash sends out Staravia, and it blows the sand away. Then Ash orders Staravia to find Team Rocket. Nurse Joy starts to think that it is her fault that Happiny was captured. Ash and co. try to cheer Nurse Joy up but it is not working. A Weedle and Starly are soon seen knocked out. Ash and co. assume that the sandstorm injured them. Brock tells Nurse Joy that she can still take care of the forest Pokémon. He promises to help Nurse Joy out. Nurse Joy is grateful, and she regains confidence again.

Team Rocket is trying to cheer Happiny up by making funny faces. Happiny is not the least bit concerned with Team Rocket. Staravia soon spots Team Rocket, and it heads back to Ash. Meanwhile, Nurse Joy has just finished healing Weedle and Starly. Brock thinks that there is a lot of other forest Pokémon that need Nurse Joy's help. Staravia soon reports back to Ash. Ash assumes that Staravia has found Team Rocket. Team Rocket is still trying to cheer up Happiny. They know that Happiny like stones, so Jessie presents Happiny with a lot of stones. Happiny doesn't accept any of them.

Ash and co. have finally found Team Rocket. James sends out Cacnea. Cacnea uses Pin Missile. Chansey counters the attack with Egg Bomb. Jessie sends out Seviper. Seviper uses its Bite attack. Brock sends out Sudowoodo to dodge the Bite and counter with Double-Edge. Cacnea isn't out yet. It uses Needle Arm and hits Sudowoodo. Sudowoodo is thrown into Brock, and Brock falls to the ground. Happiny is worried about Brock. It begins to run towards him, but Meowth, Wobbuffet, and Mime stop Happiny from going any further. Seviper is about to finish the battle off with its Poison Tail when Happiny knocks Meowth, Wobbuffet, and Mime out of its way. Happiny grabs onto Seviper's tail and throws Seviper back at Team Rocket. Team Rocket isn't done yet. They order their Pokémon to attack Ash and co. Pikachu counters with Volt Tackle, causing Team Rocket to blast off again.

With Team Rocket out of the way, Brock finally gives the stone to Happiny. Happiny dances in joy now that it has its own stone. Happiny thanks Brock for the stone. Brock holds up Happiny and says, "Up we go!" So instead of Brock holding Happiny, Happiny actually takes control of Brock and throws him in the air. Then Brock falls onto the ground. Brock gets back up again and places Happiny in a Pokéball.

Ash and co. have decided to fix up the Pokémon Center while Nurse Joy heals their Pokémon. When Ash and co.'s Pokémon have all been healed, Ash and co. decide to set back out on their journey again. Before Ash and co. leave, Nurse Joy thanks them all for helping her out, especially Brock. Ash and co. finally set out on Cycling Road again towards Hearthome City.

English Official Summary

Ash and his friends are taking the Cyling Road toward Hearthome City, but when the weather turns bad and Brock's Pokémon Egg is about to hatch, they quickly take refuge at the nearest Pokémon Center. However, the Nurse Joy at the Center has a serious case of the blues. Thanks to the Cycling Road, everyone pedals right past her Pokémon Center and she's convinced it's her fault that the place is so empty! With a little encouragement from our heroes, Nurse Joy gets back some confidence in time to help hatch Brock's Pokémon Egg, which turns out to be a Happiny. Everyone has fun taking care of Happiny, until Team Rocket shows up, snatches it, and makes a getaway in their Meowth balloon. Jessie wants Happiny to evolve into Chansey and become a nurse! Brock and his friends have to chase down Team Rocket while also trying to keep Nurse Joy's spirits up, but Team Rocket has an even more difficult task ahead: cheering Happiny up! Happiny likes to carry a smooth stone in its pouch, and it's not impressed by any of the rocks that Team Rocket has to offer. Now Team Rocket has another problem to deal with, because Brock and the gang have finally caught up with them. Nurse Joy is feeling confident enough to help our heroes battle, too! But it comes as a surprise to everyone when pint-sized Happiny turns out to be so strong, it can clobber Team Rocket on its own. Pikachu helps finish the battle, and then our heroes are ready to get back on the road to Hearthome City... and Nurse Joy is ready to get back to work!
