Summary
Ash and co. have decided to give Lapras a rest. They decide to do some exploring instead. Ash wants a double cheeseburger, and Tracey wants to check out the art museum. They see a group of people running by. A house that is on fire is nearby, and a large group of people form around it. Officer Jenny is trying to control everyone from getting close to the fire. Ash and Misty wants to help out. Misty sends out Staryu, and Ash sends out Squirtle. Staryu and Squirtle use Water Gun on the flames. The attack isn't strong enough to put out the fire. A guy drives in the scene. In the back is a squad of Wartortle. Part of the building is about to fall on Ash and Misty, but the Wartortle rescues them just in time. The man blows his whistle, and the Wartortle form a line. Using their Water Guns, the fire dies out. Ash thanks the man for saving him. The man introduces himself as Captain Aiden. He is the commander of Team Wartortle. Ash and co. introduce themselves to the captain. Squirtle and Wartortle has their eye on each other.

They go back to the fire station where Aiden tells Ash and co. about Team Blastoise and Team Squirtle. Aiden says that Team Wartortle is a perfect combination of Team Squirtle and Team Blastoise. They are an unbeatable force. Aiden blows his whistle, and the Wartortle stop. Then the team faces the captain. Squirtle looks a little disappointed because it couldn't put out the fire alone. Squirtle reaches down and puts on the Squirtle-squad glasses. Ash and Misty are surprised that Squirtle still has them. Ash explains to Tracey what the Squirtle Squad was. He says to Tracey that they were bad, but after they understood each other, they were good. Ash wants Aiden to let Squirtle join the team, but Aiden doesn't think Squirtle is strong enough. After some pleading from Ash, Aiden decides to test Squirtle against Wartortle. Team Rocket is spying on Ash and co. They want to steal Pikachu, Squirtle, and Wartortle, so they use wooden bush sticks to disguise themselves.

Knowing that endurance is very important, Aiden has Squirtle and Wartortle run the track. He blows the whistle, and off they go. Squirtle is doing pretty good, however when it trips over a rock, it bumps into Wartortle. They both cross the finish line. Tracey, the timer, says that Squirtle and Wartortle set a new record. The next training session is where Squirtle and Wartortle have to knock down the targets with Water Gun. Aiden says that he wants powerful pressure and not trickles. He fires the targets, and they do good. Misty notices the amount of competition Squirtle and Wartortle are in right now. A strange looking target flies up to them. The water Pokémon tries to hit the target, but they miss. Then the target flies away, and the Pokémon follows it. Unexpectedly, the Pokémon disappear.

Ash and co. run up, and they see a giant hole in the ground. Team Rocket comes out of the hole in their balloon. They were the ones controlling the target. Meowth grabs Pikachu, and he puts it in a cage. Pikachu shocks the cage, but nothing happens. James sends out Weezing, and it uses Smokescreen. Everyone below is coughing hard. Tracey sends out Scyther, and it blows the gas away. When Ash looks at the sky, nothing is there.

Team Rocket has landed by their cabin. Inside, Pikachu tries to shock the cage again, bubt nothing happens. The Squirtle and Wartortle bites the nets that they are in, but the nets don't break. James says that they don't have to give every single Pokémon to the boss. Then Jessie and James begins to argue of which of them gets to keep a Pokémon. Meowth scratches them for no apparent reason. This gets Jessie and James mad, so they start to hit Meowth. Meanwhile, Venonat is on the search for Pikachu and the others. Aiden gets a call from Officer Jenny that there is a burning building in downtown. Team Blastoise can't get through because a truck is blocking their way. Team Squirtle isn't strong enough. Misty goes to help fight the fire. Tracey sends out Scyther and Marill to help Misty. Venonat spots something, and they leave Misty alone to fight the fire.

Team Rocket still fights each other. Squirtle and Wartortle shoots water at Team Rocket. Soon the whole place is flooded witih water. The water is let out, and Squirtle and Wartortle make their way out of the cabin. Meowth scratches the net, and it breaks. The water Pokémon are free. Later, Ash and co. arrives at the scene. Venonat tackles Team Rocket. Ash frees Pikachu too. Team Rocket gets back up. Jessie sends out Arbok, and James sends out Weezing. Squirtle and Wartortle use Water Gun to send Team Rocket's Pokémon back. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, and Team Rocket blasts off again.

Misty is doing her best to put out the fire. A big rock comes tumbling down. Before it can hit Misty, two Water Guns move the rock to the side. Misty looks behind her, and she sees the whole team. A boy from the building cries out for help. Ash decides to help the boy, but Aiden stops him. Squirtle puts on its sunglasses, and him and Wartortle decides to help the boy. They get onto Blastoise's cannons. Blastoise shoots them up to the building. They pick up the boy. Parts of the building collapse, but Squirtle and Wartortle help each other. Ash and co. are worried about Squirtle and Wartortle. Pikachu sees the Pokémon coming there way. Squirtle and Wartortle jumps out of the building. Moments later, the fire dies out. The boy is reunited with his mother. Squirtle and Wartortle shake hands.

The next day, Aiden asks Ash and co. where they are headed next. Ash tells him that they are going to the next town. They wave goodbye to each other, and Ash and co. are headed to the next town.
