Carmine is a character first introduced in The Teal Mask DLC expansion of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. She is the older sister of
Kieran, and was originally born in the far-off region of Kitakami, but currently attends the Blueberry Academy as a very strong battler. Proud of her roots and the history of her town, she is very protective of it and its heritage, being cold to those from other regions due to her being nervous about Kitakami becoming a tourist trap. Even to those she does care about, such as her brother, she can come across as mean and distant, but she only means this as a form of tough-love. She is a descendant of the man who made the masks Ogerpon wears.
During the events of The Teal Mask, she slowly grows fond of the player,
Florian or
Juliana, but doesn't show it that much until the player and her stumble upon Ogerpon and its dropped mask. Agreeing to keep it a secret from
Kieran, she tries to protect her brother from getting shunned by the townspeople due to his love of the Pokémon, but ends up making things worse when he finds out the truth and accidently releases The Loyal Three in rage. After battling the legendary Pokémon together, she grows to accept a small amount of those from other regions, and becomes more excited to share her culture, and become friends with those at the academy.
During the events of the Indigo Disk, she is a bit more reserved, mainly due to
Kieran's sudden switch in personality after the player defeated them. She doesn't know how to handle his brother's new power, and barely was able to speak with him. This is finally until the player, Carmine, Kieran, and
Briar head down further into the depths of Area Zero to find more about Terapagos, where she finally ups the courage to tell Kieran to snap out of his spell of wanting more and more power. It is revealed that her best friend in the Blueberry Academy is
Amarys.
Anime:
While attending the harvest festival,
Friede took great interest in
Carmine's Sinistcha but she gives him a condition that in order to examine it, they'd have he'd have to compete against her. They competed in a shooting contest, a cut-out contest, and finally a Pokémon Battle featuring Yabasocha VS Captain Pikachu.
Friede handily defeated her in all the contests which significantly annoyed her.
Carmine told the Rising Volt Tackers' that
Briar was at the Crystal Pool but the
Mossui Community Center Caretaker showed up and as thanks for helping his daughter
Shizune, he gave them permission to visit.
