Team Skull Grunts are a group of delinquents that live in Po Town in the Alola region. Many of them were against the island challenge, unable to live up to the region's traditions and expectations. As such, they often spent time trying to ruin trial-goer's experiences, and try to promote a much more rowdy, no-rules lifestyle, as well as steal other people's Pokémon. They see the Team Admin, Plumeria as a big sister, and their leader Guzma as their idol.
Team Skull Members who don't have a Skull Tank are just recognized under the "Punk" trainer class. Members have to purchase their own Skull Tanks.

In the main series anime, Tupp and Rapp are based off the Male and Female Team Skull Grunts from the video games.
