Eusine is a researcher and is very well versed regarding the Legendary Beast trio. Originally introduced in Pokémon Crystal, Euisune specifically targets Suicune, being very inspired by the stories he was told by his grandfather, and had been chasing it for 10 years prior to the game's events. His dream is to one day battle and befriend Suicune, and ultimately catch it.

In the English dub version of "The Legend of Thunder", he is mistakenly referred to as "Eugene".
