Ranger Signs:

The Capture Styler is an essential item for Pokémon Ranger as it allows them to capture and control wild Pokémon to assist them with various tasks. A new feature, Ranger Sign (レンジャサイン), has been added to the styler in this the third game of the Ranger series and allows players to use the touch screen capabilities of the DS to draw the symbols to call specific Pokémon for assistance.

The Ranger sign for Eipam was revealed at the end of January 2010 in the book on page 26. It could be used in the retail version of the game as well as the demo version that was release on the Nintendo Wii application Everyone's Nintendo Channel (みんなのニンテンドーチャンネル) in Japan.

Location of Sign: Rainbow Island - Teak Forest (レインボじま チークのもり)
A young boy in the Kokona Village explains that a Bippa is being attacked by a Gureggru in the Teak Forest just at the entrance to the Yasuri Cave. The player captures both Pokémon and then the boy arrives and takes the Bippa with him. The Ranger Sign for Bippa is revealed on a stone after the Helping Bippa (ビッパを たすけて!) mission is completed.

After players have completed the Spin! Kapoerer (まわれ! カポエラー) mission, the man and the Hitmontop leave and the Ranger Sign for Hitmontop appears on a nearby stone.

After players have completed the Rokon's Ruins Exploration (ロコンの いせきたんけん)mission, the man and the Vulpix leave and the Ranger Sign for Vulpix appears on a nearby stone.

Right after players complete the Cute Cute Watacco (かわいいかわいい ワタッコ) mission which involves three Watacco causing havoc, the Pokémon Napper, the Watacco and the boy leave as the Ranger Sign is revealed on a stone.

Players must complete the A Warm Meal for Mimirol (ミミロルに あったかごはんを) mission in order for the Ranger Sign to appear on a nearby stone.

After the player completes the Friendly Mankey (やさしいマンキー) mission which involves defeating two Misdreavus that are attacking a Mankey, the Ranger Sign for Mankey is revealed on a stone outside the entrance to the Old Mansion.

Location of Sign: Rainbow Island - Rainbow Island - Ratorato Mountain (レインボじま ラトラトやま)
After players complete the Grounder Grounder Golone (ゴロゴロ ゴローン) mission which involves defeating two Golone on the path and then defeating two of the Pokémon Nappers Wooper's, the Ranger Sign appears on a nearby stone.

During the Calming the Angry Skies! (そらのいかりを しずめよ!) mission after the main game has been completed, players return to the sky and get Articuno to land back on Sopiana Island at Solbelas Mountain (ソピアナじま ソルベラスやま). Players also return to the island and capture Articuno. Once captured the sign for Articuno is revealed.

During the Calming the Angry Skies! (そらのいかりを しずめよ!) mission after the main game has been completed, players return to the sky and get Moltres to land back on Faldera Island at the Faldera Volcano (ファルデラじま ファルデラかざん). Players also return to the island and capture Moltres. Once captured the sign for Moltres is revealed.

During the Calming the Angry Skies! (そらのいかりを しずめよ!) mission after the main game has been completed, players return to the sky and get Zapdos to land back on Thunder Cloud Island at Thunder Cloud Mountain (ライウンじま ライウンやま). Players also return to the island and capture Zapdos. Once captured the sign for Zapdos is revealed.

Location of Sign: Shikurere Island - Shikurere Monument (シクレレじま シクレレのせきひ)
Once players light all 5 signal beacons throughout the Oblivia region as part of the Shikurere Island Mystery Revealed! (シクレレじまの なぞをとけ!) mission, players can return back to Shikurere Island and battle Latios/Latias. Latios or Latias will appear, depending on which gender hero character the player chose at the beginning of the game. After capturing Latios/Latias, the Ranger Sign for them appears on the monument stone.

After Raikou appears and destroys the communications parts of the tower, players have the opportunity to capture Raikou. Once players have captured Raikou they are given the sign. This is the first sign that players are given in the game. Raikou can jump over obstacles and it is also very fast to ride on which can help the player get to different land areas quicker.

Once players get through the Ruins, they enter an open area outside. Entei appears and smashes a nearby rock and players can capture it. Once captured, the Ranger Sign for Entei will be given. Entei can destroy large boulders blocking the player path.

Players save Suicune from a group of Pokémon Nappers after following it throughout the ruins. The Ranger Sign for Suicune is revealed after players capture Suicune during the Calm Suicune's Anger! (スイクンの いかりをしずめよ!) mission.

The player remembers seeing the alter at the beginning of their journey in the Oblivia region and they head back to that location underwater. The artifact is placed on the alter and it raised out of the water calling Ho-oh. After battling and capturing Ho-oh its Ranger Sign is revealed.

Near the beginning of Pocket Monsters Diamond and Pearl 169, Pokémon Ranger Natsuya is sent out on a mission to investigate the mysterious eruption in a volcano and he encounters a wild Heatran. He attempts to capture it but he looses his Capture Styler which Kojiro eventually finds. Natsuya managed to use the Ranger Sign for Feraligatr and the Feraligatr takes him to shore where Satoshi and his friends are camped out.

After players have completed the game and obtained all 300 Pokémon in their Ranger Browser, a Lugia mission is activated at Talga's House. The Pokémon Nappers have lost control of a situation at the Seafloor Cave and require assistance. Players are joined by Blue Eye at the sea floor and upon you returning to the boat, Lugia will challenge the player. Once captured, the Ranger sign is revealed.
