Biography
Toshiyuki Satō is a Japanese action freelance animator.

Toshiyuki Satō was born in 1977 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada but moved to Saitama, Japan at a young age. He is an illustrator and animator.

Satō graduated from the Department of Art at Osaka University of Arts and was belonging to the Animation Group CAS (大阪芸術大学漫画アニメーション研究会 グループ) afterwards.

He debuted as illustrator on the light novel Screaming for Vengeance, and received for his illustration the Gold Prize at the 9th Dengeki Game Novel Prize Awards in 2002. Following this he quit スタジオダブ (Studio Dove), that he was working at and became freelancer.

Satō is in particular well known for illustrating the light novel series Mamoru-kun ni Megami no Shukufuku wo. Despite that, he wasn't involved in the production of its anime adaption.

Satō expressed his admiration and respect for legendary and famous animator 金田伊功 (Yoshinori Kanada), which is often seen in his own drawings.

He often uses the pseudonyms / pen names 高山正宏 (Masahiro Takayama) (most common), 北澤たけし (Takeshi Kitazawa), くた藤利幸 (Toshiyuki Kutafuji), 佐藤マンショ (Mansho Satō) and 吉田三郎 (Saburō Yoshida) when working as an animator.
