The official Japanese Pokémon Trading Card website announced the Scarlet & Violet Black Bolt / White Flare (ブラックボルト / ホワイトフレア) Expansion Pack on May 3rd, 2025. It will be released in Japan on June 6th, 2025.


The set features all 156 Pokémon from the Isshu Region, the setting for the games Pokémon Black and White and Pokémon Black 2 and White 2. Zekrom ex and Reshiram ex are also both available with a new BWR (ビーダブリューレア) rarity!

Victini BWR Battle (ビクティニBWR争奪戦)

The Victini BWR Battle competition where players can battle in a Black Bolt and White Flare Deck Building Tournament in Japan and get their hands on a BWR Victini card will take place from June 14th, 2025 to July 18th, 2025 and then again from July 19th, 2025 to August 31st, 2025.


The only Pokémon cards from the Black Bolt and White Flare Expansion Pack can be used, so beginners and advanced players can battle and enjoy it together! It's sure to be a bit different from the usual tournaments! There is a 500 yen participation fee to play in the tournament.

1 Victini promo card will be given out to each 8-person tournament block winner and 1 Victini promo card will be given to the Rock-Paper-Scissors tournament winner. 2000 people will also be able to get this card via a Victini BWR Promo lottery.



A participation prize Victini BWR Battle Promo Card Pack containing 1 Trainer card will be given out to all players. There are 8 different Trainer cards to collect including a full art card of Cheren. 4 Basic Energy cards with the Victini BWR Battle event logo will also be randomly distributed.

Zekrom ex and Reshiram ex BWR!

Zekrom ex has a black base color design, while Reshiram ex has a white base color design, making them eye-catching designs. Zekrom ex is included in the Black Bolt Expansion Pack and Reshiram ex is included in the White Flare Expansion Pack!
