Next Expansion Marks Return of Trainer’s Pokémon to the Best-Selling Pokémon TCG
Bellevue, Wash. — Jan. 9, 2025 — Today, The Pokémon Company International announced that the best-selling Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) will be available in Latin American Spanish for the first time, starting with the next new expansion in the Pokémon TCG, Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together, launching March 28, 2025. Subsequent Pokémon TCG expansions will continue to be available in Latin American Spanish.
Following the introduction of Latin American Spanish to Pokémon GO in May 2024, Trainers in Latin America will soon be able to enjoy the Pokémon TCG in Latin American Spanish, signaling the brand’s latest efforts to serve the Latin American community. Since its initial release in 1996, the Pokémon TCG has become one of the most popular trading card games in the world, with a robust ecosystem of innovative expansions and learn-to-play products, organized and competitive play as part of the Play! Pokémon program, digital extensions including the recently launched Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket app and Pokémon TCG Live, and more.

Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together will be available beginning on March 28, 2025, at participating retailers worldwide, including Pokémon Center, the premier online destination for official Pokémon merchandise. First introduced in the Pokémon TCG: Gym Heroes expansion, Trainer’s Pokémon will return to the Pokémon TCG in Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together, as initially revealed during the 2024 Pokémon World Championships.
Trainer’s Pokémon cards will showcase the special bond shared between a powerful Pokémon Trainer and their Pokémon, with each card displaying the Trainer’s name. Players can also discover unique artwork featuring various Trainers in illustration rare, ultra rare, special illustration rare, and hyper rare cards. In Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together, players can look forward to collecting and playing with new Trainer’s Pokémon cards, including N’s Zoroark ex, Lillie’s Clefairy ex, Iono’s Bellibolt ex and Hop’s Zacian ex.

- Four Trainer’s Pokémon ex
- 16 Pokémon ex
- 11 illustration rare Pokémon
- Six special illustration rare Pokémon
- Three hyper rare gold etched cards
Players can find Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together in booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes and various collections at Pokémon Center and participating retailers worldwide. Select products from the expansion are now available for preorder at Pokémon Center in the U.S., Canada and the U.K., including the Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box and the Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together Enhanced Booster Display Box, which includes a bonus illustration rare-style card featuring N’s Reshiram with the Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together logo.
Pokémon TCG players will have the opportunity to play with Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together before launch by attending one of the many Prerelease tournaments held as part of the Play! Pokémon program, taking place beginning March 15 at participating independent retailers.
In addition, ahead of the release of the tabletop version, Trainers will be able to play with Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together digitally starting March 27, 2025, via the Pokémon TCG Live app for iOS, Android, macOS and Windows devices. Players can collect and battle with new Trainer’s Pokémon cards and receive in-game bonuses when logging in to the app.
