It has been reported that there are fake and malicious Pokémon GO Beta Sign-Ups being circulated and promoted online. Users that sign-up for these fake beta trials can have their personal information stolen as well as malicious software installed. The official Japanese Pokémon website indirectly has confirmed that this is a problem and that there is currently no timeline for official Pokémon GO Beta Sign-Ups but informs users to stay tuned to the official Pokémon GO website for official information.
