Competition winners take Eon Tickets back to 14 regional GAME stores as The Pokémon Company International encourages fans to share the Eon Ticket across the nation with the Great #EonTicketUK Relay
This Saturday, GAME FREAK’s Junichi Masuda, the producer of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, officially launched the Eon Ticket in the UK, starting a journey which The Pokémon Company International hopes will see the special in-game item made available to players throughout the UK via the Great #EonTicketUK Relay.
The Eon Ticket is a special in-game item for the new Pokémon titles. With the Eon Ticket, players can revisit Southern Island in their games, where they’ll have the opportunity to catch one of the Legendary Eon Pokémon, Latios or Latias. The ticket can only be obtained via StreetPass from someone who already has it—and The Pokémon Company International enlisted 15 lucky winners to attend a special launch event at GAME Stratford before sending them out across the country in a bid to kick-start the special ticket’s unique journey amongst fans.
The Eon Ticket arrived in GAME stores in Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Plymouth, Sheffield and Southampton—and is already making its way to even more locations around the UK.
Players who obtain the Eon Ticket will then be able to share it with friends, family and any fellow Pokémon Trainers they pass who also have StreetPass activated. More details on this feature can be found on the official Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire website: http://bit.ly/EonHowTo
The Pokémon Company International is looking forward to seeing how fans spread the Eon Ticket via StreetPass and is encouraging everyone who has received it to confirm by tweeting with the hashtag: #EonTicketUK
“Pokémon has always had the concept of social gaming at its heart, and fans have always loved connecting with each other to collect, battle and trade. The Eon Ticket Relay is a reflection of this ethos and we hope it creates a real-life Pokémon adventure, in which the community can play a part in sharing this very special item,” says Anthony Cornish, marketing director for The Pokémon Company International. “We don’t think anyone has tracked the distribution of a StreetPass item in such a way before—so we’re absolutely fascinated to see how fans spread the ticket.”
