The weekend that
Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 were released in North America,
Peta released a Pokémon flash game that portrayed Pokémon as abused pets. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have finally made a statement concerning the flash game and it appears that legal action will be taken against Peta for illegally using the Pokémon trademark.
“Nintendo and The Pokémon Company take the inappropriate use of our products and intellectual property seriously.”
Last year Peta attacked Mario in its Tanooki suit but Nintendo seemed to just shrug it off. Since Peta released their Pokémon game, the Internet's response to it has been very negative and most people believe that Peta went way too far in their attempt to gain support for animal abuse by targeting Pokémon.
