I can understand why Nintendo/GameFreak wanted to release the sequels on the Nintendo DS as the userbase is still 10x more than the Nintendo 3DS's userbase. Nintendo's problem once again is their refusal to do worldwide launches of the Pokemon games. Fan translations of the games were out 2 weeks after the games were released in Japan, so with the prevalence of flash carts and emulators, English speaking people could easily play the game months ahead of the official releases. If fans can do the turn around that quickly, you've think the developers could do so as well. Worldwide marketing at the same time would have helped sales.
