Magna Pacific has released information about their latest Pokémon DVD and Blu-ray's to be released later this year. Victini and the Light Hero - Reshiram / Victini and the Dark Hero - Zekrom were originally scheduled for release on November 30th, 2011 however they are having difficulties receiving the masters in time for that release date and had to delay the release. The releases are now likely to be January 2012, however a Magna Home Entertainment representative has informed us that the new release date has yet to be confirmed. The movies will be released individually on Blu-ray and DVD.

Scheduled for release in Australia by Magna Pacific on September 14th, 2011 are: Pokémon All-Stars: Totodile, Pokémon All-Stars: Cyndaquil, Pokémon All-Stars: Chikorita and the Kanto & Orange Islands Collection.

Kanto & Orange Islands Collection Press Release

The Kanto region of the Pokémon world is home to 151 species of Pokémon and one eager young Pokémon Trainer who can’t wait to see them all! Together with his new friend Pikachu, Ash Ketchum sets out to challenge Pokémon Gyms and win a spot in the Indigo League tournament, an epic journey that takes him through bustling towns, mysterious wildernesses, and everything between.

Then Ash turns from the heights of Kanto’s Indigo Plateau to the tropical Orange Islands, as a simple errand turns into his next big adventure: a quest to beat the top Trainers of the Orange Crew! It won’t be smooth sailing all the way, though—the Orange Crew doesn’t battle like anyone Ash has ever seen, and there’s still a lot to learn about being a Pokémon Trainer.

Many travels and adventures later, it’s back to Kanto and the brand-new Battle Frontier. These six facilities put Trainers’ Pokémon battling skills to the ultimate test, with a seventh facility hidden somewhere in the region… if Ash has what it takes to find it. And while Ash’s new friend May has never been to Kanto before, she can’t wait to take on the Grand Festival there and prove she’s the best Pokémon Coordinator in the land!

This unique Pokédex hardcover collection is loaded with region specific characters, maps, information and over 64 hours of action packed episodes following Ash’s adventures through Kanto & the Orange Islands. It’s the must-have collection for Pokémon fans!

Special Features:
  • Limited Edition Hardcover packaging
  • Loaded with Pokémon stats & character profiles
  • Detailed Maps and Region information
  • No of Discs: 22

Also announced were the Pokémon - Season 13: DP Sinnoh League Victors: Collection 2, the Pokémon Johto Collection Book LIMITED EDITION which will both be released later this year and Pokémon Season 14 – Black & White – Volume 1 which will be released in the spring of 2012.

The DVD's have been added to our DVD database and will be updated as information becomes available.

You know it seems the incompetence of Viz/PUSA/Shogakukan is really reaching new heights here. Viz is the last area of the world to release Movie 13 on DVD. Distribution of DVD/Blu-ray masters is definitely not that hard these days with high speed Internet access. The fact that Shogakukan still refuses to release Pokemon Blu-ray's is really annoying to fans of the show, instead they give us poorly transferred DVD's with excessive filtering.

I'm glad to see at least Magna Pacific is really trying to produce some really good box sets for fans. The Kanto/Orange and Johto Boxset's look really amazing. Having seen their Movie 12 and 13 Blu-ray releases, I'm definitely looking forward to the 14th Movies.

Wow... just wow.

The way I see it (or if I have to guess), Viz isn't releasing the movie on Blu-ray because it isn't on Blu-ray in Japan. I mean, Viz are doing Blu-ray release of other anime, oh like the Professor Layton movie which is FINALLY releasing in the US this fall.

Just so you are aware, the Black and White episode DVD might be also pushed back.

I guess Magna Pacific is being good to us to make up for the fact that we never got movies 6 and 7 in Australia.

I just hope the two versions of movie 14 are released as a double pack type thing and that you don't have to actually buy two copies . . .
