Australian DVD/Bluray distributor EzyDVD has updated their database to include two new entries for Pokémon - Arceus and the Jewel of Life (Blu-ray) and Pokémon - Zoroark: Master of Illusion (Blu-ray). The Bluray's will be distributed by Magna Pacific who is the current distributor in Australia for the Pokémon DVD's. The specs for the Bluray's are as follows:

Has a Blu-Ray edition of these movies been released in Japan too? I only remember about the DVD edition, and I believe I've yet to see a Pokémon movie released on blu-Ray... I'm not really up to date as regards Blu-Ray (or even DVD) releases in Japan, so I'm not quite sure about that one.

These are the first Pokemon Bluray's ever to be released anywhere in the world. Hopefully this means that the other companies will start releasing them as well because DVD's are obsolete.

Besides, the movies are filmed in HD, right? DVD-only release would have made sense if they had nothing more but upscales for the Blu-Ray release, but it doesn't look so.
By the way, I want to see the DP movies in full HD goodness sooo much. They have such gorgeous animation!
Hopefully, this year's movie will get a Blu-Ray release along with the DVD.
And what about 'Best Wishes'? No Blu-Ray release yet?

The movies are mastered in probably higher than HD resolutions 4k seems to be the going standard now for cgi rendering. Hopefully they are true HD and not upscales though that's pretty unlikely at this point as those movies have already broadcast in HD in Japan, just not released on Bluray in Japan.
Best Wishes has 3 announced DVD's but no Blurays.
