Giselle is a student at the illustrious prep school, Pokémon Semi, where she is the elementary class's brightest star. Ash and Brock both thought she was very cute when Joe showed the picture of her that he kept with him.

Ash battled her after he got angry at her for her demeaning attitude towards him. He managed to defeat her Cubone without using any Electric moves.

After Team Rocket was defeated, Joe and Giselle became friends and challenged each other to meet at the Pokémon League.
