Grusha is one of the Gym Leaders of the Paldea Region, serving the Glasaedo Mountain. He specializes in Ice Type Pokémon, and has a Cetoddler as a partner. Originally, he also served as a popular snowborder, but an incident left him unable to continue his duties, and Geeta told him to focus on serving as a Gym Leader instead. He isn't much of a talker, and doesn't find a lot of things "cool".

Grusha is known as the strongest Gym Leader in the Paldea region. He comes off as a very calm and collected person that doesn't seem to view his opponents as threats at all, but he actually hides a keen interest in them, as well as a fierce passion.

Grusha was initially introduced via a picture on a slide alongside the other Gym Leaders during a presentation about Terastal Training at the Orange Academy by Principal Clavel and President Geeta. He made his actual appearance later in PM2023 56, watching Liko and Katy battle against Rika and then coming up to Liko to comment that it didn't take much to raise her spirits. Grusha was then assigned as Liko's opponent for a practical application test. Grusha was in the crowd to watch Roy's practical application test rematch battle against Ryme but left as soon as it was over without interacting with anyone.
