5-star Tera Raid Battles for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were announced during the Pokémon Presents on July 22nd, 2025 and they will take place from Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025 to Sunday, September 14th, 2025.

Battle Together to Claim up to Four Legendary Pokémon!

From Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 00:00 UTC to Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 23:59 UTC, Shiny Wo-Chien, Shiny Chien-Pao, Shiny Ting-Lu, and Shiny Chi-Yu will be appearing sequentially in 5-star Tera Raid Battles. Throughout this event series, Trainers worldwide can unite against these Ruinous Pokémon for a chance to add Shiny ones to their teams.

Unlike standard Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet Tera Raid Battles, the four Pokémon appearing in these events cannot be caught upon being defeated. Instead, participating players can collectively win a certain number of Tera Raid Battles against each of these Pokémon for the opportunity to receive them via Mystery Gift.

Collectively Defeat Each Ruinous Pokémon One Million Times!
If the total number of player victories against one of these featured Pokémon collectively meets or exceeds one million during its given event period, then that Shiny Pokémon will become available via Mystery Gift at a later date.

For every one hundred thousand player victories collectively exceeding one million against a given featured Pokémon, a Tera Shard Set—each containing 40 Tera Shards—will also be distributed (up to a maximum of 10 sets total). Work together with Trainers around the world to challenge the treasures of ruin and welcome them as allies!

The final total of player victories against each featured Pokémon is scheduled to be announced at approximately 00:00 UTC on the Friday following the conclusion of that Pokémon’s Tera Raid Battle event.

The Shiny Wo-Chien, Shiny Chien-Pao, Shiny Ting-Lu, and Shiny Chi-Yu appearing during this event may be featured in future events or become obtainable through other methods.

Conditions to Receive These Shiny Pokémon via Mystery Gift

In order to receive one or more of the Pokémon featured in this Tera Raid Battle event series, the total number of victories achieved by all participating Trainers must collectively meet or exceed one million before the conclusion of a given Pokémon’s event period.

For example, if the total number of player victories against Shiny Wo-Chien meets or exceeds one million by Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 23:59 UTC, Shiny Wo-Chien will subsequently be available to claim via Mystery Gift during its distribution period.

Mystery Gift Distribution Periods

If the conditions to receive one or more of these Pokémon are met, each qualifying Pokémon—along with any qualifying Tera Shard rewards—will be available to claim via Mystery Gift during its associated distribution period.

How to Claim a Mystery Gift in Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet

1. Launch your Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game.
2. Select Poké Portal on the X menu.
3. Select Mystery Gift, then select Get via Internet to connect to the internet.
4. Choose the gift you want to receive.
5. Watch as the gift arrives in your game.
6. Be sure to save your game.

• You need to connect your Nintendo Switch system to the internet to claim this gift.
• To connect to the internet, your user profile must be linked to a Nintendo Account.
• It takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours of play time before you are able to access the Mystery Gift feature.

What Is a Tera Raid Battle?

In a Tera Raid Battle, you’ll work together with three other Trainers to defeat a powerful Tera Pokémon before time runs out. The kinds of Pokémon encountered during Tera Raid Battle events will vary. Pokémon encountered in Tera Raid Battles may have a rare Tera Type.

Information About Tera Raid Battle Events

• To participate in Tera Raid Battle events, please download the latest Poké Portal News by selecting Poké Portal from the X menu, then Mystery Gift, then Check Poké Portal News.
• You’ll be able to find 5-star Tera Raid Battles after completing Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet’s main story. If you haven’t completed the main story, you may still participate in these Tera Raid Battles by joining other Trainers in multiplayer.
• A Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) and Nintendo Account are required to participate in Tera Raid Battles with other Trainers online. Membership auto-renews after initial term at the then-current price unless canceled. Not available in all countries. Internet access required for online features. Terms apply.
• Tera Raid Battle events will occur only in the Paldea region.
