Basic Pokémon Type Chart - Generations 2 to 5

This chart is the most one of the most useful pieces of information you could have if you plan on doing a lot of battling. If you do not know the move types, you won't last long in a trainer battle. If you use the appropriate attacks against types that are weak, you will easily defeat your opponents.

Move types and stats are important factors in Pokemon battles, but other factors may influence the amount of damage that a Pokemon is dealt from an attack. This chart does not take into account factors such as: held items, abilities, other moves, or weather conditions. These factors can greatly change the effectiveness of moves against certain Pokemon types.

Note: This Basic Type Chart is only valid for Generation 2 to 5 games.
