The official Pokémon website has announced the Fair and Square Pokémon Competition takes place from Thursday, June 17th, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. PDT until Sunday, June 20th, 2021, at 4:59 p.m. PDT.

Register for the Fair and Square Pokémon Competition
Put together your perfect team to battle against Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield players from around the world.
A new challenge is on the way for Trainers to show their skills in the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games. The Fair and Square competition provides an interesting ruleset for Single Battles that will truly put your battling prowess to the test. Unlike in the Series 9 regulations, duplicate Pokémon and duplicate items are allowed. And Legendary Pokémon are
prohibited—including typically permitted Pokémon, such as Zapdos, Urshifu, Silvally, and the Ultra Beasts. By taking part in this challenge, you'll earn a participation gift of 50 Battle Points.
How to Register
The sign-up period for the Fair and Square competition is from
Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at 10:00 p.m. PDT until Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 4:59 p.m. PDT.
To register for the competition, follow these steps:
- Launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
- Open the X menu.
- Select VS.
- Select Battle Stadium.
- Select Online Competitions.
- Select Search Official Competitions.
The Fair and Square competition takes place from
Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. PDT until Sunday, June 20, 2021, at 4:59 p.m. PDT. This competition is comprised of Single Battles in which your Battle Team can have more than one of the same Pokémon and more than one of the same held item.
Eligible Pokémon
Galar Pokédex No. 001–380 and 383–397, Isle of Armor Pokédex No. 001–099 and 102–210, and Crown Tundra Pokédex No. 001–196 are eligible for battle, as well as the following Pokémon: Treecko, Grovyle, Sceptile, Torchic, Combusken, Blaziken, Mudkip, Marshtomp, Swampert, Rowlet, Dartrix, Decidueye, Litten, Torracat, Incineroar, Popplio, Brionne, and Primarina.
Each Pokémon in your Battle Team must have the Galar symbol or battle-ready symbol. Review the Eligible Pokémon section of the competition rules from within your game for details.
Results and Gifts
To view your rankings after the competition has ended, follow these steps:
- Launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
- Open the X menu.
- Select VS.
- Select Battle Stadium.
- Select Online Competitions.
- Select Search Official Competitions.
To receive your participation gift after the competition, follow these steps:
- Launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
- Open the X menu.
- Select Mystery Gift.
- Select Get a Mystery Gift.
- Select Get Battle Stadium Rewards.
