The official Chinese Pokémon website has announced the 2017 Hong Kong and Taiwan Video Game Regional Championships will take place on May 28th, 2017 from 10:00 until 20:00 in Taiwan and June 17th, 2017 from 10:00 until 20:00 in Hong Kong. To help promote the Regional Championships, an Alternate-Colored Kapu-Kokeko will be distributed at participating stores in both countries with a leaflet with a serial code. Codes will be available from April 28th, 2017 until May 31st, 2017 and they can be redeemed from April 28th, 2017 until June 30th, 2017 at 23:59.

Kapu-Kokeko is a Pokémon that appears in the Nintendo 3DS games Pocket Monsters Sun and Moon as well as the TV anime series. It is known as the Guardian deity of Melemele Island. A similar Kapu Kokeko was distributed in Japan in March 2017 and in South Korea in April 2017. Kapu-Kokeko normally has a yellow appearance but this special Black Alternate-Colored Kapu-Kokeko cannot be obtained in regular gameplay.
