Announcing the Broadcast of "Flowers Will Bloom: Anime Star Version" on NHK's Great East Japan Earthquake Project "Connect to Tomorrow"

"Flowers Will Bloom: Anime Star Version", sung by Koichi Yamadera and Nana Mizuki, will be broadcast on NHK's Great East Japan Earthquake Project "Connect to Tomorrow".

Since 2012, NHK has worked with celebrities and artists from all kinds of fields to record various versions of the recovery support song "Flowers Will Bloom". This time they've created "Flowers Will Bloom: Anime Star Version", featuring the heroes and heroines of Japanese animation history. One of the featured franchises that will cheer on the recovery of Tohoku is "Pocket Monsters the Movie".

During the production of this program, Yamadera Koichi, one of Japan's most prominent voice actors (and a native of Shiogama, Miyagi), and Nana Mizuki, who's not only a voice actor but also an artist who has held concerts in countless stadiums, will be performing a duet to an all new arrangement by "Flowers Will Bloom" composer Yoko Kanno.

The program will premiere on NHK General Saturday March 12th at 11:40pm, and will be rebroadcast several times in the future.
*Program broadcast times are subject to change.
