On May 7th, 2023, TV personality Shoko Nakagawa announced she was graduating from the TV Tokyo Network's Pokemon information variety show PokéDoko. Nakagawa has been hosting the morning Pokémon shows since she first joined Pokémon Sunday in 2006, but her role as presenter of Pokémon news is now over.

On PokéDoko, Nakagawa provided the voice of the show's host Koccar. "I'm extremely happy that Pokémon has been part of my entire life, and that I've got to work on the Pokémon variety shows for about 17 years. Pokémon is truly the reason my life is what it is. ", she says. "Having such a big Pokémon fan as Nakano-kun take over for me has to be the greatest Baton Pass ever. And I would still love to come on the show a lot to have fun with Pokémon."

"I've been on the Pokémon sunday variety shows since Pokémon Sunday 17 years ago!", she continues on Twitter. "I decided to leave the Koccar role since I felt I had done everything I possibly could when Pokénchi ended. I'm happy to do a Baton Pass to the wonderful Nakano-kun from Kaerutei. But my Pokémon love will last forever. I love you, Pokémon. Thank you so much"

Shuhei Nakano from Kaerutei, who will be taking over the role, had the following to say: "Pokémon has been there my entire life, from playtime after school to holidays and all the way up until today. It's a dream come true to get to work on something I love this much, not to mention getting a Baton Pass from someone I respect as much as Shokotan-sama... I promise to do my absolute best!"
