"WHEN CHIMCHAR, A LESS-THAN-CONFIDENT... ...wannabe Exploration Team member, stumbles across Piplup, face down on a sandy beach, the pieces that will lead to the formation of "Team Pokepals" fall into place. With the Piplip bizarrely claiming to have been a human, Chimchar plucks up the courage to visit wise Pokemon Wigglytuff and its Guild to try to solve the mystery.

Join Piplup and Charmander as they embark on their first adventure that leads them to the deepest and darkest dungeon imaginable. Will Chimchar and Piplup's friendship provide them with the strength to save the day, or will this Mystery Dungeon prove too much for the inexperienced "Team Pokepals?"
