Pokémon Scramble U is the first Pokémon game to be released on the Nintendo Wii U system. It is the follow up to the games
Pokémon Rumble (乱戦!ポケモンスクランブル) for the Nintendo Wii and
Pokémon Rumble Blast (スーパーポケモンスクランブル) for the Nintendo 3DS. Pokémon Scramble U will be released on the Nintendo eShop in the spring of 2013. The action game gives players the ability to battle using an innovative system where Pokémon Toy's come to life.
The game uses the power of the Nintendo Wii U to allow players to have over 100 Pokémon on screen at once at some points. It it the most exhilarating Pokémon experience yet. All 649 Pokémon are available in the game and players can choose their favorite Pokémon. Up for 4 people can play simultaneously.
Pre-Order Deals
For those that pre-ordered the game from a Pokémon Center in Japan, there was two special combo packs that players could purchase. The first one was the game as a download card with a special Pokémon Center Punching Pikachu (PCの“パンチング”ピカチュウ) NFC figure. It's special pre-order price was 1800yen, 200yen cheaper than buying them separately.
The second combo was the game as a download card with a special Pokémon Center Punching Pikachu as well as Pokémon Scramble U NFC figure carrying case (ポケモンスクランブル U NFCフィギュア キャリングケース). It's special pre-order price was 2380yen, 400yen cheaper than buying them separately. Both combo's were limited supplies and were available for purchase from March 20th, 2013 until supplies ended.
NFC Features
Pokémon Scramble U was the first Nintendo Wii U game to take advantage of the NFC capabilities of the system. Players could place compatible NFC figures on the gamepad reader and that corresponding Pokémon would appear in the game. The figures can be used in other player's games and can retain the progress players made. They can also be raised by obtaining coins within the game.
Players can use IC Cards to unlock random one-use Pokémon. Players can scan them by using the NFC reader on the gamepad which is also used to scan the figures.
